Removing Backups

The 'Remove Backups' functions of HTML Shrinker are currently only aimed at removing backup files with the .bak file extension located in the same folder as the shrunken files. Backups located in special folders outside the root folder of your web site can easily be deleted with the Windows Explorer.

HTML Shrinker Pro offers two ways of removing backup files with the .bak file extension:

  1. Removing all backup files in the current folder
  2. Removing backup files from whole folder trees (Pro Version only)

The Light Version of HTML Shrinker only offers possibility 1.

Removing all backup files in the current folder

Removing all backup files in the current folder may be indicated for cleaning up the current folders if you are sure that you won't need the backups anymore. All you need to do, is to select Remove Backups from the File menu.

Removing backup files from whole folder trees (Pro Version only)

If you want to remove the backup files of a complete web site (which usually consists of files within several folders), you should consider using the 'Remove All Backups' command. You just need to select the root folder of your web site (where the main html file of your web site is located) in the folder box and to select 'Remove All Backups' from the File menu.

Please use this command with caution. The original files will be lost after removing all backups.
